Thanks to everyone who collected and handed over their Tesco vouchers to the club. I need to send them off to Tescos at the end of this week to bank them for next year. If you still have any vouchers lurking in wallets/purses please can you give them to me on Tuesday 23rd June ,Thursday 25th June or final date Saturday 27th June. After this date they become worthless ......

The Southampton squad that ventured to Reading for the Hasler circuit race were bathed in glorious sunshine for a day of racing. At present the race results have not been finalised, but as they stand at the moment, we came fifth with 196 points and joint second with the Lightnings. This puts us within five points of qualifying for the Hasler Finals, which is quite a leap, as we were eleven points behind just over a week ago.
Congratulations to all those who competed, especially to the excellent achievements of the Under 10 and 12 Lightnings and to Tom Diaper who was promoted to Div 4.
Full results will be available from http://www.marathon-canoeing.org.uk/results/Results.html
We will need a good turn out at Oxford Sunday 21st June to ensure our chances of making the Hasler final.

Sunday saw thirty two paddlers from the club to take part in the BCCC 25th Hasler race at Basingstoke Canal Canoe Club. We were rewarded with joint third place on the day with 222 out of a maximum 240 points scored in the Hasler event and joint first in the Lightning event. An outstanding performance from our U12s and U10s. So congratulations to all those who travelled through the rain to compete, transport or simply support on the day. With so many competitors I have picked out some key results, but this by no means belittle the efforts of those not mentioned.
